Usage and CSV Formatting Guide

This map visualizes location-based data with smooth zooming. You can upload your own dataset in CSV format.

Usage Instructions:

• Click the file input above to upload a CSV file.
• Use the controls on the right to toggle markers, heatmaps, and themes.
• Filter layers using the input (e.g., "Historical", "Elevation > 2000", "Region = Europe").
• Zoom smoothly using the mouse wheel or pinch gestures.
• Click on a marker to see detailed information in a popup.
• Adjust heatmap opacity and marker size using the sliders.

CSV Formatting Requirements:

• Required Fields: Your CSV must include "Location", "Longitude", and "Latitude".
• Longitude/Latitude Format: Use decimal degrees (e.g., "23.5" or "-37.2") or conventional format (e.g., "23° E", "37° S").
• Numeric Fields: Fields like "Elevation" should contain numbers for heatmap generation (e.g., "2917"). These fields will be used to create heatmaps.
• Layer Grouping (Optional): Include a "Layer" column with comma-delimited layer names (e.g., "Layer1,Layer2") to group data into layers. Each layer will have a distinct heatmap gradient and marker color.
• Index Grouping (Optional): If no "Layer" column is present, an "Index" column with sequence resets (e.g., 1, 2, 3, then 1 again) will be used to group data into layers. Each group will have a distinct heatmap gradient and marker color.
• Other Fields: Additional fields (e.g., "Region", "Summary") will be displayed in the popup.
• Source Field (Optional): Include a "Source" column with a URL to display a hyperlinked source in the popup.
